Our Approach

Each family and child that we work with is unique. We take the time to listen. Our goal is to understand our clients’ concerns, provide parents with advice and guidance in order to empower their voices within the special education process, and then build a tailored legal plan that meets their specific needs.

We believe an informed parent is an empowered parent.

The Initial Consultation and Record Review

We will begin your case by reviewing your child’s educational records and meeting with you for an initial consultation. We will provide you with a detailed case assessment based on your goals and answer any questions you may have about your case. We end our initial meeting by helping you identify the best path forward for your family.

Supporting Families Through the Team Process

Our first goal is to help you navigate the Team process collaboratively to minimize or avoid the need for litigation. We offer parent coaching if you would like help working with your child’s IEP Team effectively. We also help you assess whether to obtain private evaluations, and review other steps that may help you achieve your goals for your child.

Representing Families at the BSEA and in Court

If your child’s Team has “agreed to disagree” about their IEP or placement, we can help you obtain resolution through formal litigation. We have extensive and successful experience representing parents through the procedure of due process hearings at the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA), as well as in state and federal courts.
